October LINE-UP

Fady Kassab

Currently on ABC TV’s ‘So Sorry for Your Loss’. Lebanese-born, Sydney-based Fady Kassab is the 2019 winner of Australia’s most prestigious comedy competition, triple j’s RAW Comedy. His show-stopping performance, televised on SBS TV, saw him subsequently flown to that year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe where he was selected to feature in the Best of Edinburgh Showcase Show.

A childhood spent with 17 years of the Lebanese war as the backdrop, and his migration to Australia give Fady a unique perspective to draw from, and he credits the traumas of war with fuelling his optimistic approach to life.

Tommy Dean

If you have never seen Tommy Dean you are genuinely missing out on a master of the language of comedy. Known as the “Good Will Hunting” of comedy, he seems to see life as an enormous equation in front of him and solves it in an instant – with a mind bending laugh.

With the unique edge of being an American who understands Australia, you would no doubt have seen this guy on countless TV shows. Tommy’s impressive media appearance CV includes Spicks and Specks, Good News Week, Stand Up Australia, Rove Live, Joker Poker, Sunrise, The Today Show and The Sideshow. He can also be heard regularly on ABC 702 radio – Thank God It’s Friday

Steve Philp

Finalist for Time Out comedian the year.  Actor, comedian and radio host Steve Philp has been touring the world with the best in the biz for over 20 years.

Steve’s big break came in 2008 when he was selected as one of 14 Australian comedians to travel to Miami and compete in NBC’s top rating show “Last comic Standing” in which he made the Quarter finals and got to perform to a sold out Miami improv and an American TV audience of well over 20 million.

Riv Narak

Aussie stand-up Riv Narak has been on a tear. Riv’s been a club comedian for over 5 years, performing in Sydney, Tokyo and even Campbelltown. His comedy has been described as raw, which is another way of saying he is incoherent, but to his credit – english is his second language. Riv was once tipped $50 by an audience member for “following his dreams”. His debut at the Sydney Fringe in 2023 was a sold out run (Class Browns), where he was featured on the Sydney Fringe ‘Fresh Cuts’ showcase. His 2024 show “Currymunch” Unpacks what currymuncher means and jokes about stereotypes, relationships and the great voyage of assimilation.

Luke Heggie

Comic favourite Luke Heggie is known for his dry dead pan style and the ability to deliver a brand new killer comedy show year after year. He gigs relentlessly 6 or 7 nights a week and tours the biggest comedy and arts festivals in Australia and New Zealand to sell out crowds and rave reviews. Luke also has a fan base in UK by taking his harsh but fair shows about idiots to crowds at London’s Soho Theatre.

In 2020 Luke started a Podcast with fellow comedian Nick Cody called Mid Flight Brawl, cataloguing the best all time air rage incidents, generally resulting from any old tiprat being allowed to fly now.
